For about sixty-nine cents a week you too can have soft smooth skin. Read on to see how bananas can cure the painful and itchy dryness that is caused by eczema.

Those who have experienced eczema have probably already spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars looking for a cure to ease this uncomfortable condition. If one simply suspects they have eczema, the cure offered here is harmless anyhow unless the person is allergic to bananas.

What is Eczema?

Eczema is a dry and itchy area on the skin. It tends to look like and feel like a solid rash and can be embarrassing as well as painful. The cause of eczema varies. It can be a sign of psoriasis or other dermatalogical disorders. Eczema is found on people of all ages, from infants to elderly persons.

Typical Treatments for Eczema

Most typically eczema is treated with topical applications of ointments and creams. In the case of psoriasis oral medications and recommendations for use of tanning beds are also sometimes part of the treatment plan. While these treatments do tend to alleviate some of the eczema, they often have no lasting effects. These treatments can also tend to be quite expensive and may even violate the lifestyle of the person who is affected. For instance, some people do not believe in the use of tanning beds for any reason. Others would rather not use western methods of treatment. Happily, there is a cure that doesn't violate the beliefs of anyone at all.

The Cure for Eczema

Oddly enough, the cure for eczema comes in the form of bananas. Now, most everyone has heard that bananas provide potassium that is useful in alleviating the pain of cramps and growing pains. Of course, they are also a nutritious snack and are enjoyed by most people.

But nature is not wasteful. Nature even has a purpose for the packaging of its foods. For instance, raw potato skins offer more nutrition than any other part of the potato. Bananas offer their own methods of packaging and uses for the skins in which bananas are found.

It's really quite simple. Those with eczema should peel the banana and eat it. Then they would take the banana skin and place it on the area effected by the eczema. The banana peel is held on the area for about twenty minutes. If it is a severe case of eczema then this may be a couple of times a day for about 3 days or until improvement is seen. Once the eczema has cleared, repeat the process about once every three to four days to keep the skin healthy and free of eczema.

Now, one may wonder how a person could possibly eat that many bananas. Surely they would get sick of them! However, eating a banana every day isn't really necessary. One can simply store the banana peels in a sealed plastic bag in the freezer or refrigerator to keep them useful.
